1. Introduction SaveExcess ("we", "us") is a food rescue app that connects food donors with recipients. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

2. Data We Collect

• Account information: Email address and display name when you register.
• Location data: GPS coordinates when you use the app, to show nearby food listings and tag your donations. You can deny location permission and manually enter a city instead.
• Food listings: Title, description, categories, expiry, and optionally GPS coordinates or private pickup instructions you provide.
• Device data: Firebase automatically collects device identifiers for authentication and crash reporting.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To show you food listings near your location.
• To let recipients find your donations.
• To send you in-app notifications about listings.
• To maintain your account.

4. Data Sharing We do not sell your personal data. Location coordinates are only shared as part of public food listings you choose to post. Private listings show pickup instructions only — no GPS coordinates are shared.

5. Data Retention Your data is stored while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the app settings, which removes all your data from our servers.

6. Third-Party Services We use Firebase (Google) for authentication and database storage. See Google's privacy policy.

7. Children's Privacy SaveExcess is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
